October 08, 2025 | Women's Soccer
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Oregon State women's soccer fell, 1-0, to San Francisco Dons at Negoesco Stadium.
Mya Sanchez set a new single game career high for saves, stopping 10 of the Dons' shots and posting a season-high save percentage of 90.9. Across 12 appearances in 2025, Sanchez is now up to a West Coast Conference leading 66 saves, allowing one goal or less in eight games and posting a save percentage of 75.9.
The Beavs generated scoring chances consistently throughout Wednesday's contest, tallying a season-high 19 shots, which included six on frame. Though the Dons took an early lead in the 27th minute, Oregon State appeared destined to find the back of the net early in the second half, finishing with three shots and three corner kicks in the opening six minutes of action, which included a pair of shots from near the six-yard box that were blocked.
Lindsey Antonson made her return to the lineup after missing all of last season due to injury, tallying three shots (one on goal) across 26 minutes of game action. Originally from Wilsonville, Ore., Antonson also recorded three shots when she last played in a 2-0 win over Oregon on Nov. 3, 2023, a span of 705 days.
Antonson was one of five different Beavers to finish Wednesday's game with at least two shots, joining Paola Figueroa (five), Carly Carraher (four), Alyssa White (two) and Nathalie Mejia (two). Avery Pleiman played 64 minutes in the first start of her collegiate career while Emily Ibsen returned to the starting eleven and played the full 90.
Oregon State returns home for its next contest, hosting San Diego on Oct. 12. Kickoff at Paul Lorenz Field is scheduled for 12 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by calling 800-GO-BEAVS (541-737-4455) or visiting beav.es/SoccerTickets.
