Beavs Battle Until Very End, Fall 2-1
September 28, 2025 | Women's Soccer
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Oregon State women's soccer fell, 2-1, at LMU on Sunday.
Adele Schwab scored for the first time this season in the 41st minute, capitalizing on a scramble in the box off a corner kick before slamming it home with her left foot. Schwab, who joined the program last offseason after two seasons at Campbell, has started in all 10 games so far and is now tied for the team lead in total points (four) thanks to Sunday's goal and a pair of assists earlier in the year.
Avery Pleiman notched the first point of her collegiate career, earning credit for the assist on OSU's goal. A true freshman from Independence, Ky., Pleiman has been a key reserve for the Beavs this season, playing 235 minutes across nine appearances off the bench, and has two shots this season.
Mya Sanchez's strong senior season continued against the Lions with five more shots stopped, which included an impressive double save early in the contest, stopping a close range shot with a kick save before pushing a shot from range off the crossbar. With one defensive player of the week award to her name, Sanchez is now up to 51 saves, stopping five or more in four of her last five appearances.
Oregon State out-shot LMU, 16-15, on Sunday, putting five shots on frame and holding a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks. Carly Carraher led the team in shots with five and was joined by Paola Figueroa (two), Alyssa White (two) and Rin Choi (two) as Beavers with multiple shot attempts.
LMU found its opening goal in the 16th minute before scoring the game-winner off a penalty kick in the 68th.
OSU returns home for its next contest, hosting Portland on Oct. 4. Kickoff at Paul Lorenz Field is scheduled for 12 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by calling 800-GO-BEAVS (541-737-4455) or visiting beav.es/SoccerTickets.
