THE MATCHUP:
Air Force enters this weekend's competition with a 194.585 NQS and is in the midst of a long road schedule, as Saturday's meet is the fourth of five-consecutive road meets. Over the weekend, the team scored a 193.575 against Utah State and saw the team's leading all-arounder Maggie Slife win an event title on bars with a 9.850.
LAST MEET:
Last time out, Oregon State gymnastics finished with a 197.025 against San José State, the team's fourth 197-plus of the season and 59th in program history. Jade Carey had her best performance of the season as OSU's beam lineup once again led the way with a 49.325 rotation score to finish the meet.
When the rankings were updated, Sunday's performance kept the Beavers ranked No. 11 with vault at 17, bars ranked no. 13, beam at no. 8 and floor ranked 13th nationally.
THANK YOU, SENIORS:
Carley Beeman, Natalie Briones, Jade Carey, Karlie Chavez, Kaitlin Garcia, Sydney Gonzales, Lauren Letzsch and Sage Thompson will all be recognized along with Phoebe Jakubczyk, who competed for three years before spending the 2025 season as a manager, for their contributions to the program on Saturday.
Combined, these nine student-athletes have completed over 700 routines across their careers at Oregon State.
SOLD OUT:
Early in the week, it was announced that Saturday's meet against Air Force had officially sold out. Attendance has been strong all season long, as the Beavers enter this meet with an average of over 5,000 fans per meet and set the student ticket attendance record for a single meet early in the season.
There has only been one other sellout in the program's history, which came against Utah when the Beavers won a share of the Pac-12 title on March 11, 2023.
BEAMIN':
Entering the week as the No. 8 lineup in the nation, Oregon State's beam team has had a resurgent 2025 season. Bolstered by the return of Sydney Gonzales and Lauren Letzsch, the beam lineup has remained nearly identical all season long: led off by Sophia Esposito and followed by Olivia Buckner, Lauren Letzsch, Jennifer McMillan, Sage Thompson and Jade Carey; Mia Heather competed in the anchor spot on Feb. 28, earning a 9.825.
39.825 in San José:
The highest all-around score in the country this season, the 12th time an OSU gymnast has finished with a 39.800-plus and the 12th time in the storied career of Oregon State's senior gymnast.
Ladies and gentlemen, Jade Carey.
EXCELLENCE FROM ESPOSITO:
Sophia Esposito has had a strong sophomore season, competing on three events in all but one meet. After earning a Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection on the vault last year, Esposito has been critical to the Beaver highly ranked beam and floor lineups, and the Melville, N.Y., native had arguably her best meet of the season on Sunday. Against SJSU, Esposito earned a pair of 9.850s on vault and floor before tying her career high on beam in the final rotation, scoring a 9.900.
Through 10 meets in 2025, Esposito holds averages of 9.786 on vault, 9.840 on beam and 9.858 on floor, while posting 16 scores of 9.850 or higher across 28 completed routines.
LET 'EM KNOW, LO:
Lauren Letzsch's resurgent senior season continued in the Bay Area, earning her second-consecutive 9.850-plus with a 9.875, and it was her eighth 9.800 or better on the beam in 10 total routines. With a perfect hit rate this season, Letzsch is now up to 80 career hits in 83 routines, which includes career highs of 9.875 (vault – March 4, 2023), 9.925 (beam – Feb. 24, 2023) and 9.950 (floor – twice, last on March 27, 2023).
THOMPSON IS TREMENDOUS:
Sage Thompson reached 100 career hits during Sunday's meet, with the mark being reached on a floor routine that earned a 9.825. She's been tremendous across two seasons in Corvallis, with 66 of her career hits coming in orange and black. After competing in the all-around seven times as a junior, the Lehi, Utah, native has focused on three events this year and has been a pillar of consistency, averaging a 9.795 on vault, 9.858 on bars and 9.852 on floor while competing those three events in all 10 meets.
CONSISTENT CASO:
Francesca Caso competed exhibition routines in four meets last season but has been a regular in the heart of the bars lineup in 2025. Through 10 meets, Caso has competed nine times on the uneven bars, earning six 9.800 or better scores and averaging a 9.803 while competing predominantly on the front half of the lineup.
SETTING THE STAGE:
Kaitlin Garcia has been in the vault and floor lineup in every single meet this season, hitting on 18 of 20 routines. On floor exercise, Garcia has been in the five spot in nine of ten meets, the lone exception coming on Feb. 28 when she anchored the lineup, and has seven scores of 9.850 or better. In the vault lineup, the San Diego, Calif., native has found her form in recent weeks, earning no lower than a 9.825 in her last five appearances, which includes a pair of 9.900s, while working out of the middle portions of the lineup.
UP NEXT:
Beaver Gymnastics will remain at home for its regular season finale, hosting Fisk on March 21.
