
Beavs Set to Start Pac-12 Play in Salt Lake City

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- With nonconference action behind, the Oregon State softball team will head back to Utah to open Pac-12 play against Utah this weekend.
The Beavers and Utes are slated for a three-game set at Dumke Family Softball Stadium this weekend starting Friday.

SERIES OUTLOOK:
• Oregon State will head to Utah for the second consecutive week but to open conference play in Salt Lake City against the Utes.
• The series between OSU and Utah is deadlocked at 23-23.
• Last year, OSU took two of three from the Utes to cap the regular season.
• Utah took two of three from the Beavers the last time they met in Salt Lake City.
THIRD WEEKEND LOOKBACK:
• OSU wrapped up nonconference play with the Utah Tech Trailblazer Tournament in St. George, Utah.
• The Beavers avenged a week two loss to BYU with a 7-4 win over the Cougars.
• Oregon State's offense was led by Kaiea Higa's three-run home run in the fifth inning in the win over BYU.

• The Beavers have slugged 15 home runs so far this season.
• Abby Doerr and Frankie Hammoude lead OSU with four apiece.
• Doerr also holds the team lead in runs batted in with 12.

• OSU will have a pair return from the 2022 WCWS squad: Tarni Stepto and Sarah Haendiges.
• This duo each have fanned at least 35 through four weeks - Haendiges (37), Stepto (35).
• Stepto has held opposing batters to just a .203 average at the plate after nine appearances.
