Beavers face early test at Lake Las Vegas Invitational
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State Men's Rowing team heads to the Mojave Desert this weekend for the Lake Las Vegas Invitational. This is the third consecutive year the Beavers have competed in the event and they'll be competing against the University of San Diego, University of California, and Dartmouth College
"We're excited to get out in one of the earliest collegiate races of the season," said Beaver head coach Gabe Winkler. "We're competing against some of the top teams in the country down there – it's going to be a great test early on in the season."
The weekend gets kicked off Saturday, February 29th at 8:40 A.M. when the Beavers compete in junior varsity and varsity 8+ races against San Diego, followed by another pair of races against California starting at 1:00 P.M.
"We've had a great winter training," Winkler said. "The team is itching to get out there for a real race, they're pumped."
The team will finish the weekend with a final set of races against Dartmouth and San Diego on Sunday beginning at 8:00 A.M.
