March 15, 2019 | Women's Track & Field
CORVALLIS – The Oregon State track and field team transitions from indoor to outdoor competition this weekend at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open, hosted at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City.
"We are excited to have good weather for our opener," said head coach Louie Quintana. "We will open up our team in stages, with still quite a few [student-athletes] in a heavy training load who will open in competition over the next few weeks."
The Beavers have one event on Friday afternoon with the hammer throw. A small contingent consisting of Lindsay McShane, Sydney Guthrie-Baker, Keely McLaughlin and Jessica Molina will compete for OSU. During the indoor season, McShane set the school record in the weight throw at the Don Kirby Classic (56-4).
The rest of the group will compete beginning Saturday morning with the discus and pole vault. The Beavers also have entries in six other events; 1,500m, 100m hurdles, 400m, 400m hurdles, 200m, and 5,000m.

During the 2018 outdoor campaign Oregon State notched 25 all-time top 10 marks, including two school records in the javelin and hammer throw. Destiny Dawson holds the javelin record, while Molina is the current holder of the hammer throw record.
