Beavers Gain Experience in Tough Dual
April 08, 2017 | Men's Rowing
LOWELL, Ore. – The Oregon State men's crew team battled Washington on Saturday at the Oregon State Classic on Dexter Reservoir in Lowell.
Washington won every race but OSU coach Gabe Winkler said the Beavers can use the experience of competing against the No. 2-ranked Huskies as a building block for the rest of the season.
"There are strong points of every boat we can take, and use them to build off of for next week," Winkler said. "I'm proud of how we stepped up against one of the best teams in the country.
"Those guys [Washington] really know how to row and they set the level for us."
The Beavers resume action next Friday-Sunday at the Stanford Invitational at Redwood Shores, Calif. Their next home meet is against California on April 23, on Lake Vancouver in Vancouver, Wash.
