OSU Hosts Beaver State Classic This Week

OSU Hosts Beaver State Classic
• Oregon State opens the 2017 season this weekend when it hosts the Beaver State Classic at Gill Coliseum.
• The Beavers square off with Idaho on Friday at 10 a.m. to open the tournament.
• OSU also takes on Pacific Friday evening at 7 p.m.
• The Beavers conclude the tourney by hosting Kansas State at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets and Promotions
• Tickets to the Beaver State Classic are available by visiting BeaverTickets.com or by calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS.
• Fans are encouraged to donate school supplies at the Beaver State Classic. Those who do will receive $5 admission.
• The first 250 fans to Saturday's match with Kansas State will receive a free pair of Beaver socks.
• Friday, Aug. 25 marks the first Faculty Friday of the season. OSU faculty and staff receive $5 tickets at Friday matches with a valid ID card.
Against the Field
• Oregon State is 11-1 all-time against Idaho including a three-game sweep in 2016. The Beaver have beaten the Vandals the last five times they've faced off dating back to 2000.
• OSU trails the all-time serices against Pacific, 2-9. This will be the fourth straight year the squads have met, with UOP winning the last two.
• Oregon State holds a 2-1 series lead over Kansas State. The Wildcats, ranked No. 22 at the time, defeated the Beavers in the programs' last meeting, a five-set match in 2012.
Aces
• Mary-Kate Marshall enters the season ranked fifth in OSU history with 1,390 kills. She needs 91 kills to tie Jill Sawatzky (2007-10) for fourth.
• Marshall was named to the Pac-12 Conference's preseason first team for the second straight year.
• Marshall has 165 career total blocks and needs 23 to move into the top 30 in OSU history.
• McKenna Hollingsworth has 1,339 career assists and is just 29 helpers away from moving into 10th in OSU history.
• Kayla Ellis ranks 20th in OSU history with 818 career digs. She is likely to become the 14th player in school history to reach the 1,000-dig mark.
• Lanesha Reagan needs 44 kills for 500 in her career.
• The Beavers have welcomed five newcomers to the 2017 squad, giving the program the No. 19-ranked recruiting class.
• The quintet of newcomers joins 10 returning letterwinners and Haylie Bennett, a redshirt freshman.
• Jessica Quinn is an assistant coach for the Beavers for the first time this fall. Quinn previous supported the OSU program in a Director of Operations role.
