
Marrs Named WCC's Defensive Player of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Alana Marrs – for the third consecutive week – has been honored as a Player of the Week by the West Coast Conference. Today, the league tabbed the middle blocker as the Defensive Player of the Week following consecutive Freshman awards.
Marrs paced the Beaver defense with a team-best 12 blocks (1.71 per set) that were evenly split among solo and assisted stops. In the Thursday night win over Saint Mary's (Calif.), Marrs tallied eight blocks – five assisted – to help Oregon State get the four-set victory over the Gaels. On Saturday, she tallied four more blocks to secure the sweep of Pacific and keep OSU unbeaten for the weekend.
The Ellensburg, Wash., product is pacing the league in solo blocks (15), eighth in total blocks with 45 and sits in 10th with 1.07 blocks per set.
She is the only three-time winner of a conference award so far in 2025.
After a weekend home, Marrs and the Beavers will hit the road for the season's first road league games this week. Starting Thursday, Oregon State will play two in the Bay Area against Santa Clara and San Francisco.
