Stephen Thompson Jr. scored eight points against Team USA in Puerto Rico's final game in Paris. Overall the guard appeared in two games in the event, amassing a total of 15 points.

Mere days after winning the second Olympic gold medal of her career, Jade Carey was back on the podium once more, winning bronze at the 2024 Olympic Vault Final.

Each athlete participating in Saturday's event completed two vaults, with an average of the two determining the final scores. Carey's first vault earned an impressive 14.733, before a 14.200 soon after solidified her third-place finish at a 14.466.

Team USA teammate Simone Biles (15.300) won gold while Brazil's Rebeca Andrade (14.966) won silver.

The Olympic Vault Final marked Carey's final appearance in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she finished with two medals: Saturday's bronze and a gold medal from the Olympic Team Final earlier in the week. Having won a gold on floor exercise in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, Carey is now up to three Olympic medals in her gymnastics career.

Jade Carey did it - she won her second gold medal.
The Beaver gymnast competed on vault in the Team Final on Tuesday, scoring a 14.800 and setting the tone for a highly successful day for Team USA, who dominated the field to win gold. The Americans finished with a 171.296 overall score, comfortably ahead of silver medalists Italy (165.494) and bronze medalists Brazil (164.497).Â

Carey is now set to compete in the Olympic Vault Final, slated for 7:20 a.m. PT on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Marie Gülich ('18) opened her Olympics by helping Germany make history on Monday, taking down Belgium 83-69 for the country's first Olympic victory in women's basketball. The German team took down reigning EuroBasket Champions in the Belgian team with Gülich playing 21 minutes in the victory.Â

The gymnastics qualification round officially came to a conclusion, and Oregon State's Jade Carey made some noise. The Americans put up the highest team score on vault and floor as the team posted a 172.296 to lead all teams, as Carey finished third in the vault standings and qualified for the Olympic Vault Final.

Team USA will compete in the Women's Team Final on July 30, beginning at 9:15 a.m. PT, while Carey's competition on vault is slated for 7:20 a.m. PT on Saturday, Aug. 3. All the action can be found on Peacock and NBCOlympics.com.

Women's Basketball Alums to Open Play on Sunday MorningÂ
Oregon State's Ali Gibson ('15)Â opens play for the two Beaver alums in the Olympics on Sunday at noon PT. Gibson is playing in her second Olympics with Puerto Rico, which takes on Serbia. The game will be broadcast on Peacock.Â
Marie Gülich ('18) begins her Olympic journey on Monday when Germany battles Belgium at 4:30 a.m. PT - also on Peacock. Oregon State's all-time winningest player helped lead the German team to its inaugural Olympics with her play in the 2023 Eurobasket tournament as well as the 2024 Olympic Qualifying tournament.
