McNairy finishes 13th, Corbitt 16th in Heptathlon
TUCSON, Ariz. – Saskia McNairy led the Beavers in the heptathlon at the University of Arizona.
McNairy scored 1329 points in the fifth and sixth event in the seven-part competition. She did not finish the seventh and final event (800 m). Claire Corbitt finished 16th overall scoring 1,428 in the final three events.
McNairy jumped 18 feet and half an inch in the long jump good for 6th place in the event and scoring 700 points; her high for the two events she competed in for the day. She followed it up with 123 foot 8 inch throw in Javelin finishing in 4th for the event and scoring 629 points.Â
Corbitt scored 548 points in the long jump with a jump of 16 feet and 3.25 inches, and followed it up with an 80 foot 11 inch throw in Javelin good for 376 points. She finished the competition with a time of 2:46.15 in the 800 meter earning 504 more points.
This is the end of the Jim Click Multis, but the Beavers are in action at the John Knight Twilight tonight and the Baylor Invitational on Saturday.
