Beavers Sweep Past Pilots

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State women's rowing team defeated the University of Portland Pilots in a head race along the shores of the Willamette River near the OSU Boathouse in Corvallis Saturday morning.
The Beavers two crews swept the Pilots with the Varsity 8 'A' crew consisting of Jessica Stewart, Alina Hagstrom, Alissa Kummer, Ellie, Lesch, Isabella Preble, Anna Peterson, Lily Banks, Mimi Ballinger and coxed by Simone Oberholzer, covered the 5,000-meter course in a time of 15-minutes, 4.34-seconds. OSU's V8 'B' boat came in second with a time of 15;34.91, more than a full minute ahead of the Pilots' first crew.
Oregon State races again at the Orange & Black Regatta in Corvallis, Saturday, Nov. 14.
