Game Notes
• Game time weather was partly cloudy at 60 degrees. Wind was 9 mph from the North, Northwest.
• The game aired on ROOT Sports Northwest and ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain in addition to KJZZ. Tom Helmer (play-by-play) and Steve Preece (analyst) were in the booth for the ROOT Sports broadcast. Jen Mueller and Alanna Rizzo were on the sideline.
• Utah won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half. The Beavers received the ball in the South end zone to start the game.
• Oregon State wore all white while Utah was clad in black with red helmets.
• Attendance for the game was 45,017.
Oregon State Team Notes
• The game marked the Beavers' first ever at Utah with the Utes members of the Pac-12.
• The fourth quarter safety forced by the Beavers is the first by OSU since Matt LaGrone and Keaton Kristick tackled Isaiah Pead of Cincinnati in the end zone (9/19/2009).
Oregon State Individual Notes
• Markus Wheaton caught a 3-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. It marked his first score of the season and eighth of his career.
• In connecting with Wheaton in the fourth quarter, Sean Mannion has thrown for at least one touchdown in his last six straight games.
• Mannion threw for 231 yards, topping 200 for the seventh consecutive game. Only Sean Canfield (7 straight in 2009) and Derek Anderson (13 straight in 2003) have achieved that dating back to 2001.
• Johnny Hekker set the Oregon State punting single-game record (minimum of five punts) by averaging 52.5 yards per punt. He totaled 315 yards on six attempts and placed three punts inside the 20 and had four of 50 or more yards. He surpassed the previous record of 51.2 yards set by Dainard Paulson against Oregon on Nov. 21, 1959.
• Offensive guard Josh Andrews played in his first game since week two against Wisconsin.
• James Rodgers' first catch of the game gave him 200 receptions for his career, becoming the third player in OSU history to record 200 catches. He has 206 for his career.
• Michael Doctor finished with 1.5 sacks. He came into the game with one for his career.
• Andrew Seumalo recovered his first career fumble in the fourth quarter.
• Brandin Cooks set a career-high with five receptions.
