CORVALLIS, Ore. - Chelsea Plourde celebrated her 19th birthday by setting an Oregon State gymnastics record as the No. 19 Beavers defeated No. 14 Arizona in front of 3,754 fans at Gill Coliseum on Friday night. OSU scored a season-high 196.950 to edge the Wildcats, who scored 196.700.
Plourde won her fourth all-around title of the season with a career-high 39.525 to set an OSU record for an all-around score by a freshman, breaking Chari Knight's mark of 39.500 set in 1991. Bisordi then fell to open the door for OSU, but Lamun later fell on her floor routine to keep the Wildcats in the running. In the end though, Ricioli-Hebron scored a 9.80 on the final routine to clinch the victory.
