Softball Knocks Off Saint Mary's, 6-3

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Junior Crystal Draper picked up her third win of the season as Oregon State's softball squad knocked off Saint Mary's College, 6-3, Sunday morning at the Southern Utah Tournament.
"Crystal did a nice job today," said OSU head coach Kirk Walker. "She was healthier than yesterday and it definitely showed on the mound."
The Beavers improve to 3-1 on the season after completing their first weekend of action.
Oregon State's Shawna Feldt finished 2-for-4 with a double and run scored while Steph Adams went 2-for-3 with a homer and two runs scored.
"We hit the ball extremely well today," commented Walker. "It was a good, solid offensive output throughout the team. We had much improved confidence from opening day."
Jessica Hanaseth hit 2-for-3 for the Gaels with a double and homerun while teammate Janelle Yousef placed a 2-for-4 effort with a homer.
"We're glad to come away in a good situation with some wins," said Walker. "I'm pleased with the improvement we made throughout the weekend."
Oregon State hits the road again next week, traveling to the Texas A & M Corpus Cristi Tournament. The Beavers open action of the three-day tournament on Friday against Mississippi State.
