Jean Saubert

Jean Saubert has the distinction of being the first Oregon State woman to ever win a medal in the Olympic Games. She captured a silver and bronze at the 1964 Games in Innsbruck, Austria; the only U.S. member with multiple medals.
She won more than 100 races and was a member of the U.S. National Team for three years.
The Roseburg, Ore., native was a 1983 inductee into the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame and the National Ski Hall of Fame in 1976. She was chosen to be one of the torchbearers for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
