Walnut Creek, Calif. – Junior outside hitter Camille Saxton (Balzac, Alberta) and freshman middle blocker Arica Nassar (Menifee, Calif.) netted All-Pac-12 honors, announced Tuesday by Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott.

Saxton and Nassar both garnered All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, and Nassar added All-Freshman First Team honors, the first for an Oregon State player since Rachel Rourke in 2006, and marking the first time a freshman has made both teams for the Beavers.

Leading the Beavers offensively all season, Saxton also finished ranked ninth in the conference for kills per set (3.57) and points (4.14), while finishing third for service aces (0.31). She finished with the fifth most kills for a junior in school history with 428, while ranking fourth all-time for attacks in a single season with 1,398, adding 497.0 points – good for fifth in junior history.

Saxton broke into the career kills (27th), attacks (21st), service aces (t-25th) and points (29th) lists, while setting the school record for sixth-most swings in a single match against Stanford with 77.

Overall on the season, Nassar finished with the team’s third-most kills – most by a middle blocker – with 296 (2.26 kps) and hitting .307, while adding 15 aces, 57 digs and a team-leading 114 blocks (0.96 bps). She was tabbed Pac-12 Freshman of the Week twice, while also being named the country’s top freshman middle blocker by VballWorld.com.

She jumped onto a number of freshman school record lists including finishing ranked seventh for kills, second for hitting percentage, ninth for solo blocks, fifth for block assists, total blocks and blocks per set and seventh for total points. Nassar also tied the school record for second-best hitting percentage in a single match at .750 (15-0-20) against Seattle on September 5.

Saxton and Nassar’s All-Conference honor marks the fifth straight year an Oregon State player has been recognized, 24th overall. The last time two players from a Beaver squad both received conference honors in the same season was 2003.

Nassar joins current players, sophomore Mona Kressl and junior Ashley Eneliko, in earning All-Freshman Team accolades, marking the 17th mention in school history.
