Defoe Concludes Trip With USA Volleyball

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Oregon State junior libero Becky Defoeconcluded her trip with USA Volleyball on Wednesday, helping her club, USA Blue, to a bronze medal finish at the A2 Tournament.

USA Blue went 3-0 in tournament pool play but lost in its semifinals match to USA White before defeating USA Red in five sets on Wednesday.

Defoe, a native of Bend, Ore., was one eight liberos from across the nation, with two assigned to each team. Overall, 48 volleyball student-athletes participated in the A2 program, which was held in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships.

Defoe was credited with 85 receptions over the five matches, averaging 17 per.

A graduate of Summit High School, she broke the OSU record for single season digs last season with 555. She was selected as the top libero at the Long Beach State Baden Classic.
