CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State track and field program will split up this weekend as part of the team will head to the Linfield Twilight on May 4 hosted by Linfield University and the Oregon Twilight on May 5 hosted by the University of Oregon.

At the Linfield Twilight, the events are scheduled to start at 3 p.m. on May 4 running until 8 p.m. at night. On May 5 at the Oregon Twilight, the events will kick-off at 5 p.m. with the last event running at 8:25 p.m.

Justine Bird will be the lone high jumper at the Linfield Twilight, with Latane Cox, Sabrah de Voir, Raelyn Robinson and Shannon Mahoney all competing in the 1,500 meter run. Whitney Pitman and Hannah Soza-Hodgkinson round out the Beavers competing at the Linfield Twilight where they will run in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

Audrey Botti, Haley Hunt, Sarah Olson, Olivia Poblacion, Kelsi Schaer and Maureen Tremblay will all compete in the 1,500 meters at the Oregon Twilight. Kylee Cook, Lacey London, Taylor Hunt and Emily LaValley will race in the 800 meter run.

Taylor Nowlin will be the sole Oregon State competitor in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Oregon Twilight. Kristin Oenning will look to continue her consistent performance at the high jump this weekend in Eugene.

The men of the Oregon State track and field team will make their first appearance since spring football started this weekend at the Oregon Twilight where Obum Gwacham will compete in the high jump. He currently holds a top-60 jump in the nation and the second best jump nationally for football players competing in NCAA track.

Gwacham won’t be alone this weekend, the 4X100 meter relay team of Markus Wheaton, Malcolm Marable, Brandin Cooks and Keynan Parker will all compete too. All four of the sprinters may also compete in the 100 meter dash.

The Beavers are coming off another stellar performance when they competed at the Pacific Twilight and the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational. At the Pacific Twilight, Oregon State came away with two first place finishes with Schaer running unattached and winning her section in the 1,500 meters and Botti winning the 5,000 meters.

Laura Carlyle and Casey Masterson both turned in significant performances at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational. In just her second meet of the season, Masterson notched the second fastest time on the team in the 1,500 meters, placing third in her section.

Carlyle continued her historic season by beating her own school record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:17.77. Carlyle has now broken a school record four separate times this season. She beat her own school record in the indoor mile three times earlier this season.
