Oenning Makes History with High Jump

FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Oregon State women's track and field student-athlete Kristin Oenning made history Saturday night at the Pacific Twilight Invitational when she competed in the high jump.
Oenning competed in the high jump event and finished in sixth place with a height of 4-11.00. She became the first female field competitor since 1988. Her height Saturday was less than her career best height in high school of 5-5.00 but she has only been training for the event for about a week.
Redshirt freshman Laurel Parks from Grants Pass, Ore. finished with a season best time of 5:06.93 in the 1,500 meter run Saturday night. It was her fourth time running the event and has improved her time by nearly 0:10 seconds since the beginning of the season.
Freshman Joslynn Corredor from Dana Point, Calif. ran the 5,000 meters for the third time this season and finished with a time of 19:17.61 to finish in the top-5 for the event.
The Oregon State track team will be back in action Saturday, May 8 at the Oregon Twilight event at Heyward Field in Eugene, Ore.
