Dec. 18, 2009
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's swim team set out for a 10 winter training trip to Mission Viejo, Calif. during which it will take on UNLV and San Diego State Saturday Dec. 19 in San Diego, Calif. starting at 1pm at the Aztec Aquaplex and will include a 16-event program which will include diving.
"We match up very well against both teams," Oregon State swimming head coach Larry Liebowitz said. "It should be a good test for our team. It will be a good day of competition and it is a good way to conclude our training camp and set us up for the second half of the year."
The last time the Beavers jumped into the pool was at the US Short Course Nationals in Federal Way, Wash. where they swam some of their best times this season. Junior Ellie Bradley set a personal best at in the 200y breaststroke (2:18.23). Her time ranks her fifth all-time for Oregon State for the event.
Signe Larson, Marisa Warman, Anna Heller, Jenni Dole, Anna Crandall, and Keri Holmstrom all set season bests at the US Short Course Nationals. Rachel O'Brien set a personal best in the 200y butterfly with a time of 2:01.41 in the preliminaries but just missed making it into the finals. Her time places her eighth all-time at Oregon State.
