Dole, O'Brien Head to NCAA Women's Swimming Championships

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Junior Jenni Dole and sophomore Rachel O'Brien are on their way to Austin, Texas for the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming Championships. They will be competing on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19.

Dole will compete in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100 butterfly on Friday, as well as the 200 backstroke on Saturday, while O'Brien will compete in the 100 butterfly on Friday and the 200 butterfly on Saturday. It is the first time competing at the NCAA Championships for both Dole and O'Brien.

Dole is having a career year in her third season with the Beavers, setting school records in the 100 and 200 backstroke events along with being a part of the record-setting relay team in the 200 freestyle. She finished the regular season with a team-high 13 dual meet wins, 10 of which came in the backstroke.

O'Brien finished second to Dole in dual wins on the season tallying 12 of her own in the 200 and 500 freestyle events as well as the 200 butterfly. She set personal bests in the 50, 500 and 1,000 freestyle events as well as the 200 butterfly.

The preliminary trials for the events will start at 9 a.m. PT with the event finals starting every night at 5 p.m. PT.

Friday, March 18
9:00 a.m. - Day 2 Swimming Trials
5:00 p.m. - Day 2 Finals
- 100 Butterfly Final (Dole, O'Brien)
- 100 Backstroke Final (Dole)

Saturday, March 19
9:00 a.m. - Day 3 Swimming Trials
5:00 p.m. - Day 3 Finals
- 200 Backstroke Final (Dole)
- 200 Butterfly Final (O'Brien)
