CORVALLIS, Ore. - Registration is now open for Oregon State softball's annual Winter Skills Clinics, which will be held the weekend of Saturday, Jan. 14 and Sunday, Jan. 15 at the Truax Indoor Facility on Oregon State's campus.

There will be two separate sessions on Saturday, Jan. 14, one for the Junior Beavs (Grades 2-7) running from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and one for the Senior Beavs (Grades 8-12) from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

On Sunday, Jan. 15 there will be clinics for pitchers and catchers taking place concurrently from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and open to campers of all ages (Grades 2-12).

8 a.m. - Check-in for Junior Beavs Session
9 a.m. - Staff Introductions
9:10 a.m. - All-Skills Clinic
12 p.m. - Question and answers with the Beavs
12:15 p.m. - Check-in for Senior Beavs Session
1 p.m. - Staff Introduction
1:10 p.m. - All-Skills Camp
4 p.m. - Question and answers with the Beavs

What you will need to bring and other general information:
•Campers will need to bring their own glove, softball shoes, bat, batting gloves and helmet.
•Campers will be instructed in hitting, bunting, base running, basic defense and position play.
•Each of these areas will be broken down in drills taught by Oregon State softball players and coaches.
•Campers will be broken up into groups according to their grade in school and skill level.

What you will need to bring and other general information:
PITCHING CLINIC: Pitchers will need to bring their own catcher. This catcher does sign up for the clinic and will not need to pay. Mom, Dad or Coach can be the catcher for the pitchers. It does not need to be their full time catcher. Pitchers will have the opportunity to work with Head Coach Kirk Walker on the breakdown of pitching mechanics. They will also have a chance to work with former and current Beaver pitchers.

CATCHING CLINIC: Catchers will need to bring their own catching gear and glove. These catchers will not be able to catch a pitcher who is in the pitching clinic. Catchers will have the opportunity to work with Assistant Coach Geoff Hirai on the breakdown of catching mechanics. Blocking, framing and the mental aspect of the game will get broken down. Campers will also have the opportunity to work with former and current Beavers.
