Oregon State is making its second straight appearance in the NCAA tournament and third overall. The Beavers come into the match with an overall record of 15-3-1 on the season earning them an at-large berth into the tournament. The win total is the most in school history as Oregon State set a school record for Pac-10 Conference wins with seven. Sophomore Chelsea Buckland leads the Beavers with eight goals and two assists on the season for 18 total points. Freshman Jenna Richardson and junior Melinda Ingalls are second on the squad in goals scored with six. Senior Courtney Wetzel has the team lead in assists with eight. On the defensive side of the ball, goalkeeper Colleen Boyd is having a record breaking year in her junior campaign. She has allowed only 10 goals this season for a goal against average of 0.52 which is a single-season record at Oregon State. She also set the school record for single-season shutouts with 13. Memphis enters the tournament with record of 15-3-3 on the season. They defeated Central Florida by a score of 1-0 in the C-USA championship game for their fourth straight conference title. . Junior Lizzy Simonin was the C-USA Defender of the Year, and senior Vendula Strnadova was the C-USA Midfielder of the Year. Senior Ashley Berra leads the team with 17 points (6g, 5a) on only 34 shots this season. Goalkeeper Elise Kuhar-Pitters has started in 17 out of the 21 games for the Tigers and has only surrendered 12 goals in over 1,500 minutes played. The meeting between Oregon State and Memphis marks the first time the schools have met in women's soccer. The winner of the match will advance to the second round to face the winner of Michigan and third-seeded Oklahoma State on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. PT.
