Junior forward named to All-Conference second team while first-year goalie given Pac-12 All-Freshman honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Pac-12 Conference has released its All-Conference and All-Freshman teams following the 2012 regular season and a pair of Oregon State Beavers can be found on the list.

Junior forward Jenna Richardson has been named to the All-Conference second team, while goalie Sammy Jo Prudhomme wound up on the All-Conference freshman team for her performance in front of the neat this season.

For Richardson, this is the second straight year she has been given this honor as last season she was also named to the Pac-12's All Conference Second Team. In 2012, the Surrey, B.C, native earned 15 points, scoring seven goals and adding an assist, while leading the team in shots with 53.

Richardson played in 16 matches this season, starting all but one. She missed the first four while she was playing for Team Canada in the U-20 Women's World Cup over in Japan. Still, the two-time All-Conference Second Team honoree managed to compile two contests to her season's resume where she scored a pair of goals. The first came during her team's Pac-12 opener vs. Utah, Sept. 21 and the second on senior day in a 5-1 rout of Arizona, Oct. 21.

Named the 16th best player in the nation by TopDrawer Soccer in their midseason list, Richardson also was given Pac-12's Offensive Player of the Week honors following her two goal performance against Utah.

Prudhomme is OSU's representative on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team and made an immediate impact during her first year of college soccer. The Aliso Viejo, Calif., native played in a total of 13 matches, starting in all but one during the 2012 campaign. She made a total of 84 saves, just six shy of the freshman program record, while allowing just 17 goals. Prudhomme recorded a 6-4-3 record her first year in front of the net and earned 4.0 shutouts. She had two matches were she made double-digits saves, including 13 against Cal State Fullerton (Aug. 30) and 12 versus Cal (Sept. 30).

The first-year starter stood out among her peers, leading the conference in saves per match average (6.46), while claiming fifth place for total saves with her 84.

This is not the first time this season Richardson and Prudhomme have shared the awards stage as the duo was named Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for week No. 6 of the 2012 season.
