Richardson Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Oregon State freshman forward Jenna Richardson was named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 19-25, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. The White Rock, B.C., native recorded game-winning goals in both games last weekend. She scored in the 35th minute of the match at Washington State on Friday when she dribbled past two defenders and knocked the ball in from eight yards out. On Sunday at Washington, she netted the game winner early in the ninth minute of play, slotting it left past the goalkeeper. Three of Richardson's !ve shots on the weekend were on goal. Richardson is tied for the team lead with 17 points on six goals and !ve assists. She now has three gamewinning goals to her credit on the season. This is Richardson's first-career Player of the Week honor, Oregon State's ninth all-time and second in a row. Richardson and the Beavers look to extend their eight-game winning streak at home this weekend as they host Arizona State on Friday and Arizona on Sunday.
