CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's soccer team has received its first official ranking for the 2012 season as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America put the Beavers at No. 23 in the country in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire poll.

Oregon State started the 2012 season with a 3-0 record and has notched road wins over tough in-state rivals Portland and Portland State. Their latest victory was in comeback fashion over the Vikings from PSU as they scored two goals within a two minute stretch during the second half to secure the 2-1 victory.

The Beavers are no stranger to receiving a Top-25 ranking from the NSCAA as they started 2011 rated 19th in nation and rose to as high as 17th at one point. The 2012 squad started receiving votes last week following their 1-0 upset win over the Portland Pilots at Merlo Field. Linus Rhode's crew earned 29 votes for the Top-25 during the first week of polling before breaking through the rankings this time around.

OSU is now 3-0 for the second time in three seasons and for the fourth time in program history, The `Beavs started the 2010 campaign with a record tying five straight wins. The other years the Orange and Black women have won five straight to begin a regular season campaign was 2004 and 1995.

Rhode and his team will put their perfect record to the test Thursday night as they travel to the Golden State to take on Cal State Fullerton. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Titans Stadium.
