Richardson Concludes Competition at U-20 Women's World Cup
Aug. 27, 2012
SAITAMA, Japan – Oregon State junior forward Jenna Richardson and her Canadian team have wrapped up Group ‘C’ play of the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with their 2-1 loss to Korea DPR. The loss Monday night dropped Team Canada to 1-2 in the tournament and eliminated them from further World Cup competition. Richardson had a stellar run playing forward for her home country, having started in all three contests and scoring a goal in her team’s 2-1 loss to Norway last week. The Surrey, B.C. native will now travel from Japan back to North America where she will trade in her #11 red and white jersey for her #3 orange and black Beaver sweater. OSU head coach expects that Richardson will be back playing on Lorenz Field sometime in early September. Last season, Richardson attempted 18 shots on goal with a total of eight of them going through the net. The junior forward dished out a pair of assists and finished with a total of 18-points on the season.
