CORVALLIS, Ore. - Senior goalkeeper Colleen Boyd was selected today as one of sixty NCAA men’s and women’s soccer student-athletes for the 2011 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award in collegiate soccer.

Student-athletes who excel both on and off the field are eligible for the award if they are classified as a NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence—community, classroom, character and competition.

Boyd is not a stranger to receiving awards during her time at Oregon State. In 2010, Boyd was named to the Pac-10 All-Conference first team, the NSCAA All-Pacific Region first team, and was named an NSCAA All-American.

Each of the 30 candidate classes will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplify excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
