Three Crews Earn Wins at Lake Natoma Invitational
April 17, 2011 GOLD RIVER, Calif. - Three Oregon State women’s crews – Novice 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4+ – rowed to first place finishes in Sunday’s finals races. OSU’s N8 backed up Saturday’s heat win when it raced to a five-second victory in the Grand Finals against California’s ‘B’ crew, Wisconsin and beat Stanford by 20 seconds. The C Final the Beavers’ 2V8 cruised to victory past Sacramento State and Central Florida in a lopsided race with OSU crossing the finish 12 seconds ahead of the Hornets. OSU’s V4+ found itself in a tighter competition but beat the Hornets across the line by 2.5 seconds.
Oregon State’s V8 finished second in the C Final 3.5 seconds behind Central Florida and 5 seconds ahead of Sacramento State.
