Aug. 14, 2012
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Seven Oregon State gymnasts were among those receiving academic recognition when the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) announced the Scholastic All-America award winners on Tuesday. Seniors Leslie Mak and Stephanie McGregor and freshmen Stefanie Daley, Taylor Keeker, Katelyn Ohlrich, Kailie Ponto and Cerise Witherby represent the Beavers on this year’s list. Student-athletes must have maintained a 3.50 grade point average for the entire 2011-12 school year to receive Scholastic All-American status. McGregor, who missed the season due an injured Achilles’ tendon earned her fourth award and plans to return for her redshirt senior season in 2012-13. It is the second such award for Mak, who graduated with a degree in business marketing in June.
