Mandi Rodriguez Awarded NCAA Ethnic Minority Postgraduate Scholarship

Mandi Rodriguez begins her first season at OSU in an official coaching capacity as the program's volunteer assistant coach.

Rodriguez, a seven-time All-American, helped lead the Beavers to the NCAA Championships in each of her four seasons from 2007-10.

Rodriguez held the role of undergraduate coach during the 2011 season while finishing her degree in exercise and sport science. During that time she spent the majority of her time assisting on the vault and uneven bars.

As a gymnast, Rodriguez tied the OSU record earning All-America honors seven times and was named the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year as a junior in 2009. She was a finalist for the AAI Award in 2010, annually given to the top senior gymnast in the nation, and was a nominee for the 2011 NCAA Woman of the Year. Rodriguez earned All-America accolades on the vault three times (2007, 2009 and 2010) and on the floor exercise and in the all-around twice each (2009 and 2010). At the 2010 NCAA Championships in Gainesville, Fla., Rodriguez finished third overall on the vault in Individual Event Finals - the best finish of her career.

A regular on the post-season Pac-10 Conference awards list, Rodriguez garnered All-Pac-10 first team honors in the all-around in 2009 and '10, first team accolades on vault in 2007 and '08 and first team on the floor exercise in 2008. She won the Pac-10 title on the vault in 2009 and shared the title on floor as well that season.

A native of Baldwin Park, Calif., Mandi earned a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from OSU in 2011. She was a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic selection.
