2012-13 Oregon State Women's Golf Schedule (html) CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's golf team will host the Oregon State Invitational at Trysting Tree Golf Club in September to open a four-tournament fall schedule that also includes the Rose City Collegiate in Wilsonville. The 16-team Oregon State Invitational will be held Monday, Sept. 17 and Tuesday, Sept. 18 and admission is free to the public. Teams that are scheduled to participate include Boise State, Cal State Northridge, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Portland State, San Francisco, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Utah Valley, Washington, Washington State, Weber State and the Beavers. "We are so excited to host at Trysting Tree again," Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. "This event will give us the opportunity to showcase an excellent field of collegiate women's golfers to the Oregon State fans. We are looking forward to this event as well as hosting the 2014 Pac-12 Women's Golf Championship." The last time the Oregon State women's golf team hosted its own tournament was 2006 when the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational was held at Trysting Tree Golf Club in an annual event that had several different names. The Beavers finished fourth that year in the 17-team field with the University of Denver claiming the team title. The Oregon State men's and women's golf programs hosted the Giustina Memorial Classic together from 2007-09 to honor the life of Natalie B. "Nat" Giustina, an Oregon State alumnus who played a fundamental role in the creation of Trysting Tree Golf Club. The three-year event paired men's and women's teams from participating schools in a combined competition with two men and two women playing in each foursome. After the home tournament, Oregon State travels north up I-5 to compete at the Rose City Collegiate at Langdon Farms Golf Club on Monday, Oct. 1 and Tuesday, Oct. 2. The Beavers finished second at that event two years ago and the recently-graduated Whitney French tied for medalist honors before losing on the 12th sudden-death playoff hole to Kelsey Kipp of North Texas. Oregon State will also play at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash., Monday, Oct. 8 to Wednesday, Oct. 10 and at the Stanford Intercollegiate in Stanford, Calif., Friday, Oct. 19 to Sunday, Oct. 21. The Beavers finished fifth at last year's Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, one of their four top-five finishes last season. Alexander and assistant coach Kailin Downs will welcome back a strong nucleus of players that advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the first time in six years, including juniors Lauren Sewell and Seshia Telles and sophomore Anica Yoo, all of whom played in every tournament last season. Senior Rachael Fischer also returns after competing in the team's final eight events and two incoming freshmen - Chelsea Saelee from Seattle, Wash. and Alexa Schendelman from Gilbert, Ariz. - will add talent and depth.
