Lauren Sewell has had no trouble adjusting to competition at the collegiate level as she has played in every tournament since arriving at Oregon State last season and has provided a young and talented lineup that includes fellow sophomore Seshia Telles and freshman Anica Yoo.

Sewell has been as consistent as anyone on the Beavers' lineup after posting a 77.48 scoring average in her freshman campaign that is nearly identical to the 77.45 she has thus far this season heading into this weekend's Pac-12 Women's Golf Championship.

The native of Renton, Wash., has carded three subpar rounds, including a career-best 3-under 69 at last year's PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., and has two career top-10 finishes after finishing in a tie for seventh at the Peg Barnard Invitational this past February.

Looking back at Sewell's high school career, it's easy to see why she has been a regular in the Beavers' lineup since joining the team. She was a four-year letter winner at Kentridge High School in Kent, Wash., and made the All-League First Team all four years.

In the classroom, she carries a 3.31 GPA in Psychology, which isn't surprising considering she won the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence after finishing high school with a 3.60 GPA.

As only a sophomore, Beaver Nation should be excited about the current success of the women's golf team and what lies ahead in the future with successful student-athletes like Sewell on the team.

When and where did you start playing golf?
"I started playing golf when I was four at Maplewood Golf Course in Maple Valley, Washington."

Who is the one person who has helped you the most in your golf career?
"I would say both of my parents equally have helped me with my golf career. They both helped me practice and took me to tournaments."

When and where did you get your first par?
"When I was seven at Riverbend Golf Course in Kent, Washington."

When and where did you get your first birdie?
"When I was 10 at Brookdale Golf Course in Washington."

When and where did you get your first eagle?
"When I was 13 at Three Lakes Golf Course in Wenatchee, Washington."

Have you ever gotten a hole-in-one?
"No."

What's your favorite golf course and why?
"Appletree Golf Course in Yakima, Washington, because the 17th hole is an island green shaped like an apple."

What's the best shot you've ever hit?
"The best shot I ever hit was with a four hybrid club at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton, Washington into a par-5 on the 18th hole."

What do you like best about your teammates?
"I like how we can always find something to laugh about but we all still manage to work hard."

What do you like best about your coaches?
"They are very good about calming my nerves down on the golf course and they also keep a good balance between school and golf."

What do you like best about Corvallis?
"I love the community and the atmosphere of the town because everyone really supports the school."

What do you like best about Trysting Tree?
"I like how close it is to the campus and that we have a huge short game practice area."

What's the best course you've played in college golf?
"Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington."

Who is the most famous person you've played golf with?
"I haven't played golf with anyone famous yet."

Who would be in your dream foursome?
"Phil Mickelson, Lorena Ochoa and Sergio Garcia."

If you could play a different college sport at Oregon State, what would it be and why?
"I would want to do gymnastics because it looks like such a challenging sport, but it would be cool to be able to do the moves that gymnasts are able to do."

What are your team and individual goals for the spring season?
"For team goals, I would like to make it to the postseason. My individual goals would be to win a college tournament and to be in the top-10 multiple times."
