Women's Golf Prepared For 37th Annual PING/ASU Invitational
March 31, 2011
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's golf team will compete in the 37th Annual PING/ASU Invitational Friday through Sunday in Tempe, Ariz.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 6,230 yard ASU Karsten Golf Course with 18 holes played each day. The 17-team tournament features nine teams ranked in the Top 25 according to Golfstat, including No. 1 USC and No. 2 UCLA.
"The field is exceptionally strong and the golf course and conditions are tough," Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. "However, the course is fair and we should be able to score on it. Mental toughness and smart course management are keys to scoring at this venue. It will be a good test to see if we can play the golf course and not worry about the field."
Tee times on Friday and Saturday will begin at 8 a.m. and the final round on Sunday will begin at 7:30 a.m. with golfers teeing off the first and 10th holes. Live scoring throughout the tournament will be available at www.golfstat.com.
