"They both got off to a shaky start this morning but they recovered fairly well," head coach Ris¸ Lakowske said. "Whitney had a couple birdies coming in. Both she and Lauren (Archer) hung in there and were able to perform better than at the start and were able to finish their season on a good note." Lauren Archer had her best day of the tournament on the final day firing a 5-over 77 to finish her final collegiate tournament at 23-over (80-82-77) 239. "Lauren didn't miss many events in her career, so she gained a lot of valuable experience during her collegiate career. I think that's what being a student-athlete is all about, to learn through these competitive experiences and to use that knowledge toward their future golf or lives." "As a team, we would have liked to perform better, but with that in mind, we'll just go from here and build for next year." Sophomore Elyse Okada shot a 10-over 82 on Wednesday, while senior Brittany Stewart was 11-over and freshman Chelsey Lind finished 13-over. The Pac-10 Championships concludes the 2009-10 season for OSU's women's golf season and wraps up the college careers of seniors Lauren Archer and Brittany Stewart.
