EUGENE, Ore. -
The Oregon State women's golf team finished in ninth place at the Pac-10 Championships at the Eugene Country Club Wednesday afternoon.
Whitney French led the Beavers throughout the tourney finishing Wednesday's round at 7-over par and ending the tournament in 33rd place with a 19-over (75-81-79) 235. Lauren Archer had her best day of the tournament on the final day firing a 5-over 77 to finish her final collegiate tournament at 23-over (80-82-77) 239.
"They both got off to a shaky start this morning but they recovered fairly well," head coach Ris¸ Lakowske said. "Whitney had a couple birdies coming in. Both she and Lauren (Archer) hung in there and were able to perform better than at the start and were able to finish their season on a good note."

"Lauren didn't miss many events in her career, so she gained a lot of valuable experience during her collegiate career. I think that's what being a student-athlete is all about, to learn through these competitive experiences and to use that knowledge toward their future golf or lives."
"As a team, we would have liked to perform better, but with that in mind, we'll just go from here and build for next year."
