Corvallis, Ore.Beginning with fundamental drills and finishing with high-fives for everyone, the Oregon State women’s basketball team officially opened up the 2010-11 season with its first practice on Wednesday afternoon.

“I thought it was a great day,” head coach Scott Rueck said. “Our workouts have been great. The team has taken what we’ve asked them to do to heart, they’re competing and we’re getting everything they’ve got. They’re coachable and they’re getting along, so overall today was a great day.”

The team is led by returnees senior El Sara Greer (Waterloo, Iowa) and sophomore Angela Misa (Oceanside, Calif.), who both return for their second season on the squad, while welcoming eight newcomers to the squad. Included in the newcomers are junior transfer Earlysia Marchbanks (Salem, Ore.) and freshmen Alyssa Martin (Portland, Ore.) – whose father played at Oregon State from 1986-90 -, Alexis Bostick (San Leandro, Calif.) and Classye James (Palo Alto, Calif.)
