Women's Basketball to Face Washington State on Wednesday at Pac-12 Tournament

Complete Pacific Life Pac-12 Tournament Women's Bracket

Corvallis, Ore. – The sixth-seeded Oregon State women’s basketball team (18-11, 9-9 Pac-12) will face the 11^th-seeded Washington State Cougars (11-19, 5-13 Pac-12) on Wednesday, Mar. 7 at 7:15 p.m. in the first round of the Pacific Life Pac-12 Tournament at the Galen Center.

The two teams split the meetings during the regular season with Washington State taking the first meeting this season, 61-54, in double-overtime fashion in Gill Coliseum, while the Beavers rebounded in Pullman with a 51-39 win.

The winner of the first round game will play No. 3 USC (18-11, 12-6 Pac-12) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. at the Galen Center in a quarterfinal bout.

Pac-12 Tournament Notes:

Oregon State is 2-0 all-time in conference tournament openers against Washington State, defeating the Cougars 67-43 on March 5, 2004 and 77-38 on March 3, 2006.
Oregon State is 5-10 all-time at the Pac-12 Tournament, while Washington State is 0-10.
Oregon State has been as high as the fifth seed in the tournament, while Washington State has never been higher than eighth.
A No. 6 seed has made it to the championship game once (2009) and has made the semifinals three times (2004, 2009, 2011).
Felicia Ragland is the only Oregon State player to earn All-Tournament honors. She was named to the team in 2002.
The Pacific Life Pac-12 Basketball Tournament enters its 11th season with the women’s portion splitting its time between Galen Center and Staples Center, the second time in the history of the event the women’s teams will have the opportunity to play in an NBA/WNBA venue, joining the men’s event for the semifinal and championship games.
The Beavers last win the tournament was a 52-42 win over Washington on March 11, 2010.
