Marianne Vydra Appointed

National Harbor, MD - National Harbor, MD - Oregon State University Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman's Administrator Marianne Vydra has been selected as one of 12 individuals from NCAA member institutions to serve in the 2009-10 NCAA Fellows Leadership Program.
The Fellows program enhances employment and leadership opportunities for women and minorities at the senior management levels of intercollegiate athletics administration. Participants gain academic and practical work experience during an 18-month program that enables them to develop talents and abilities, and mesh skills with career aspirations.
Vydra has been a part of the Oregon State Athletics staff since 1992 and in 2001 was promoted to Senior Woman's Administrator. Her list of honors is extensive, including being named the 2008 Women's Basketball Coaches Association Administrator of the Year. She also serves or has served on numerous committees, including her current role as a member of the Pac-10 Conference Diversity Initiative Committee. Vydra is also currently serving as the Department of Athletics' liaison for the NCAA recertification steering committee process.
"This is a wonderful opportunity and I want thank Bob De Carolis (OSU A.D.) and the Pac-10 Conference for their support and nomination," Vydra said. "I look forward to meeting new people and collaborating with Tom Bowen at San Jose State (executive mentor)."
Vydra is a 1989 graduate of Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in biology. She also holds a master's degree from the University of Maine in education.
