Beavers Close Out 2010> Oregon State closes out to the 2010 calendar year Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 when participating in the Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C. The event is hosted by UNC Greensboro and takes place at Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center.

Media> No live video nor stats are expected for the tournament, so make sure to visit osubeavers.com at the completion of each day for a full recap and list of results.

Those Are Some Opponents> Oregon State will be a part of a deep group of teams participating in Greensboro, with eight teams heading to North Carolina commonly being ranked in the top 25 this season. The Beavers are the only Pac-10 school in the field, which includes Cornell, Michigan and Minnesota, among others.

Last Visit> Oregon State’s visit to Greensboro marks the team’s first there since 2006, when the Beavers finished eighth at the Southern Scuffle.

First To 10> Both Jason Lara and Colby Covington were victorious over their Air Force opponents on Dec. 17, nearly two weeks ago, and by doing so, are the first Beavers to reach double figures in wins this season. Lara is 10-5 while Covington is riding a seven-bout win streak to get to 10-1.

Big 66> Clayton Jack also won at Air Force, giving him his 66th career win as a Beaver, most among active wrestlers - Kelly Kubec is close behind with 65, however. Three more victories will place Jack in a tie for 50th in the Oregon State career records.

Milestone Time> With good appearances at the Southern Scuffle, a number of Beavers could reach win milestones. Jason Lara needs six victories for 50 in his career. Clayton Jack needs four for 70, Kelly Kubec needs five for 70 and Mike Mangrum can reach 40 with two victories.

Don’t Forget About Pins> Clayton Jack pinned his opponent at Air Force, and now has 24 for his career, which is tied for 19th in school history. Getting himself as many as five more would put him in a tie for 10th in OSU history.

Unattached> In addition to the projected lineup below, the Beavers will have two wrestlers in Greensboro who will wrestle un attached. They are: RJ Pena (157) and Taylor Meeks (184).
