Joe Latham, James Roberts Earn Pac-12 Academic Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State redshirt freshmen Joe Latham and James Roberts were honored by the Pac-12 Conference for their academic pursuits on Friday. Latham was named to the Pac-12's All-Academic First Team while Roberts was named to the second team. Latham competed 11 times at 165 pounds this season and went 1-10 but did keep opponents from scoring bonus points in eight of his 10 losses. A native of Bismarck, N.D., he is majoring in environmental engineering. Roberts, meanwhile, went 13-8 at 133 pounds this season and was ranked as high as 19th by Intermat in the fourth week of the season. He's a native of Canby, Ore., and is majoring in business. The duo completes a big week of awards for the Beavers who saw head coach Jim Zalesky named the Pac-12's Coach Of The Year on Thursday.
