Beavers Host Pac-10 Championships> The Oregon State wrestling team hosts the 2010-11 Pacific-10 Conference Championships Sunday at legendary Gill Coliseum. The start of the day is scheduled for 11 a.m. PT.

Media> Live stats and live video of the dual will be available by visiting osubeavers.com. Updated results and brackets will be posted on pac-10.org where a tournament web site has been set up. Check approximately every 30 minutes for updated brackets and standings.

Session Notes> The Championships will be split into two separate sessions at Gill Coliseum. Session I will run from approximately 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature the initial bouts of the day. Session II will run from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature consolation bouts, the semifinals and finals of each weight class. An awards ceremony will take place at the conclusion of Session II.

Seedings And Brackets> A coaches meeting held Saturday on the OSU campus will determine the seedings and brackets for Sunday's event. The web sites osubeavers.com and Pac-10.org will have all the seedings and brackets information.

Early-Round Bouts> The 2010 Pac-10 Wrestling Championships saw 140 total bouts take place at UC Davis. However, UC Davis dropped its program after the season, meaning there will be 10 less bouts overall (one less per class) for a total of 130 on Sunday. Each weight class will see 13 bouts performed, and one wrestler will earn a bye in the first round.

Beavers Searching For Consecutive Titles> Oregon State won the 2010 title at UC Davis. Hence, the Beavers will be searching for their second consecutive title and for just the second time in program history after the team won in 1983 and 1984. OSU has won two team titles under head coach Jim Zalesky - in 2007 and 2010.

Pac-10 Last Season> The Beavers saw Colby Covington take the individual title at 174 pounds, helping guide the team to the overall title. Amongst active wrestlers, Clayton Jack (heavyweight) and Jason Lara (125 pounds) both took second in their respective weight classes while Mike Mangrum finished third at 141 pounds.

Rankings> Of the 10 wrestlers OSU will have compete on Sunday, seven will be ranked in at least one set of top 25 rankings (see below for full rankings). Colby Covington is tops amongst the group and is No. 5 in all four.

Next Year> Boise State is scheduled to host next season. OSU will do so again in 2018.
