Men's Soccer Ranked Fifth in Far West Region

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State men's soccer team is ranked fifth in the far west region according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) it was announced Tuesday. Oregon State is off to one of its best starts in recent history after going 3-0-2 over the first two weeks of the season. It is coming off a week where they went 1-0-2 with a win over Detroit Mercy and ties against Gonzaga and Georgia Southern. The Beavers opened the regular season at home by hosting the OSU/Nike Challenge where they went 2-0 with a 3-1 win over San Jose State and a 4-0 victory over Cal State Bakersfield. Sophomores Colin Mitchell and Danny Mwanga, each have four goals on the season while John Swenson has two goals of his own. The Beavers have nearly a week off to prepare for their next match on Saturday, Sept. 19 when they take on Seattle University in Seattle, Wash. at 12:30pm.
