Five Men's Soccer Players Tabbed For Academic All-Pac-10
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - - first-team selection headed a list of five Oregon State men's soccer players who earned Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic recognition on Monday. , , and received honorable mention. Billmeyer (sr., goalkeeper), the owner of OSU's career shutouts (15) and saves (335) records, maintains a 3.43 grade point average in Business Administration and was a first-team pick as a junior last year. He was a second-team selection as a sophomore.
Ness (sr., defense) earned his third honorable mention while Donaldson (sr., midfield), Duncan (sr., defense) and Farber (sr., midfield/forward) were recognized for the first time by the conference. A trio of Psychology majors, Donaldson carries a 3.15 GPA, Farber a 3.10 and Ness has a 3.20. Duncan majors in Anthropology and has a 3.08 GPA. Farber was also a second-team All-Pac-10 pick for his play this year, and Billmeyer and Ness were honorable mention. Donaldson started 15 games and played in all 20, while Duncan's 11 assists this year were the second-most in school history. In order to be considered for recognition, student-athletes must be in their second year at the school, be a starter or significant substitute, and have at least a 3.0 GPA. The Beavers advanced to the NCAA College Cup tournament for the second straight year and have posted a school-record 13 wins two years running.
