Men's Rowing Open Four Crew Races into Grand Final

CHERRY HILL, New Jersey – The Oregon State men’s open-four and freshman eight crews raced this morning at the IRA Championships as the open-four placed third in today’s semi-finals, beating out four other teams to advance to the Grand Finals on Saturday.
“The four-plus did a fantastic job,” said head coach Steve Todd. “They made their way into the grand final and it looks like they get a little quicker with each race.”
The open-four crew finished the course in a time of 6:34.038, just under seven second behind second-place California.
The freshman eight crew placed sixth in their race with a time of 6:07.746 and will race in the Petite Final on Saturday.
The open-four crew will compete for the championship tomorrow at 8:48 a.m. The freshman eight crew races at 10:00, and the varsity eight crew races at 11:30 to finish out the weekend at the IRA championships.
