Gifford Collegiate - Live Scoring

CORVALLIS, Ore. - After a long break, the Oregon State men's golf team returns to action when they compete at the 10-team Gifford Collegiate Monday through Wednesday at the CordeValle Country Club in San Martin, Calif., in their final event of the fall season.

COURSE: CordeValle Country Club (Par 71, 7,169 yards).

FORMAT: Three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes each day in a six-count-five format. The top-five individuals from each six-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday off the first and 10th holes.

FIELD (10): Oregon State, Coastal Carolina, Lamar, Northwestern, San Jose State, SMU, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA and USC.

LIVE SCORING: Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.

BEAVERS' LINEUP: Seniors Nick Chianello, Nick Sherwood and Matt Rawitzer, junior David Fink, redshirt freshman Brian Jung and freshman Tyler Carlson. Freshman Chris Tedesco will compete as an individual in his first career collegiate event.

LAST TIME OUT: For the second straight tournament, the Beavers made a late charge over the final nine holes with a late rally at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 16 to finish the two-day, 54-hole event in a tie for sixth place.

With the wind blowing hard all day and the conditions much tougher than Monday when 36 holes were played, the Beavers shot 1 over coming in after a 4 over on the front nine to finish with a 1-under 285-277-289--851 at the par-71, 6,759-yard Meadow Golf Club.

The Beavers were in a tie for 10th place after the first round and in eighth through 36 holes before moving up two more spots to finish in a tie for sixth place with Wichita State. Oregon State rallied much the same way a week ago when it jumped from ninth place to finish in a tie for fifth with a strong final nine holes at the Pac-12 Preview in North Plains, Ore.

Jung shot the Beavers' best round on the final day with a 1-under 70 that included an eagle and three birdies, and finished his third collegiate tournament in a tie for 26th with a 1-over 214. Sherwood and Carlson each finished the tournament in a tie for 19th place with a 1-under 212. It was Sherwood's eighth career top-20 finish and the best finish for Carlson after finishing in a tie for 54th in his collegiate debut at the Pac-12 Preview.

Chianello finished in a tie for 41st with a 3-over 71-72-73--216 and Fink wrapped up the tournament with a 9-over 74-70-78--222 for a tie for 61st place.

QUOTING HEAD COACH Jon Reehoorn: "CordeValle is home of the PGA Tour's Frys.com event, and any time you have the opportunity to play a course like this for a college event, you have to enjoy yourself and make the most of it. This is a great opportunity for the team.

"It has been two-and-a-half weeks since we played at California. We've spent the majority of the time really working on each guys' game as individuals and less focus on team practice. In that time I was really happy with the progress each of our guys made. This week's event will be a great test, as the course will be setup very similar to the PGA Tour event. In a six-count-five event I feel good about the ability of this group because of our depth. When our sixth man this week (Rawitzer) is a guy who shot 65 in a NCAA Regional last year, I know we have the ability to compete with anyone."
