Men's Golf More Than Ready To Begin Fall Campaign

Men's Golf More Than Ready To Begin Fall Campaign

Tim Sundseth enters his fifth season with the Oregon State men's golf program looking for a sixth consecutive trip to the NCAA Regional Championships and a return to the NCAA Championships.

Sundseth has been part of some of the best individual performances in school history as the past two seasons have seen Diego Velasquez set the single-season scoring average record with a 70.31 during the 2009-10 season and Alex Moore finish second all-time with a 70.74 last season. Moore also shot the best round in Oregon State history when he fired a 9-under 63 at the Oregon Duck Invitational.

Velasquez became the first Beavers golfer to earn PING First Team All-America honors and Moore became just the sixth Oregon State golfer to earn All-America recognition when he was named to the PING and Golfweek honorable mention teams.

As a team, the Beavers have advanced to the NCAA Regional Championships all four years Sundseth has been involved with the program, including a trip to the NCAA Championships in 2010 where Oregon State finished tied for 16th.

Sundseth joined the Oregon State golf team in 2004 and competed for the Beavers for two seasons after beginning his collegiate golf career at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Ore. In the summer of 2005, he competed at the Oregon Amateur Championship and reached the round of 32.

He graduated from Redmond High school in Redmond, Ore., in 2001 where he was named All-State First Team and helped lead the team to the state championship. Before that he attended McNary High School in Keizer, Ore., where he earned three letters and was named to the All-Valley League First Team his junior year.

Sundseth is a 2007 graduate of Oregon State where he earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science with an option in Physical Education.
