Siale Hautau Inks to Join Football Squad
Dec. 20, 2012
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State head football coach Mike Riley announced Thursday the signing of junior college defensive tackle Siale Hautau (pronounced see-ALL-a HOW-tau) to a national letter of intent. Hautau is a 6-foot, 315-pound transfer from Snow College in Utah and registered 20 tackles, including seven tackles-for-loss and three sacks in seven games in 2012. Hautau took a two-year LDS Mission to Guatemala prior to his arrival at Snow. “Siale will have an immediate opportunity to impact our team with the losses of Castro Masaniai and Andrew Seumalo,” Riley said. Hautau is a native of Salt Lake City, graduating from Skyline High School where he was a 5A First Team All-State selection as a senior. Hautau is the second player to sign during the mid-year transfer signing period for junior/community college football student-athletes joining Steven Nelson, a cornerback from College of the Sequoias. Oregon State continues to prepare for the Dec. 29 Valero Alamo Bowl showdown vs. the Texas Longhorns in San Antonio.
