Oregon State Athletics annual fund renamed 'Our Beaver Nation'
Dec. 5, 2012
CORVALLIS, Ore. - As part of a renewed commitment to create stronger relationships with supporters and provide an increased focus on philanthropic giving, the Oregon State Athletics Development office is moving in a new direction - starting with a new name for its annual giving program. Effective immediately, the Beaver Athletic Student Fund will be Our Beaver Nation.
"The name Our Beaver Nation captures the essence of who we are and what we can accomplish together," said Oregon State Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis. "We are fortunate to have the most loyal and passionate supporters, and this new direction will allow us to better serve them."
The Oregon State Athletics annual fund was formally known as the Beaver Club before becoming the Beaver Athletic Scholarship Fund and finally the Beaver Athletic Student Fund.
Although the rebranding is the most visible change that is taking place, additional enhancements are being implemented as part of a strategic shift in the philanthropic mission of Oregon State Athletics. Among the key enhancements to Our Beaver Nation include new giving levels, a refined calendar for annual giving, and a staff-driven approach to membership.
"We are very excited about our new name and what it represents," said Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development Shawn Heilbron. "Our main objective is to generate philanthropic gifts so that we can provide a first-class experience for our student-athletes. We can best achieve that goal by delivering a first-class experience for our donors."
"We're building the futures of young men and women," said Athletics Advisory Board member Mike Rich. "When we get to a point where the last thing we think of when we hear Our Beaver Nation is that it is the money you pay so you can buy tickets, then we'll have succeeded."
