James Rodgers Named as a Hornung Honoree for Week 3
Sept. 20, 2010 LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Oregon State senior flanker James Rodgers has been selected as one of five players to be named "Paul Hornung's Most Versatile Performancs of the Week," it was announced Monday by Paul Hornung and the Louisville Sports Commission. Rodgers, who is on the preseason watch lists for the Biletnikoff, Hornung, Maxwell and Walter Camp Awards, currently leads the nation for all-purpose yards per game with 226.5 - the closest to him is Kendall Hunter of Oklahoma at 198.3 ypg. Rodgers is just 61 yards away from breaking the Oregon State record for all-purpose yards. In last Saturday's win over Louisville, Rodgers accounted for 243 all-purpose yards on four kickoff returns for 161 yards, three receptions for 27 yards, two carries for 12 yards and a pair of punt returns for 43 yards. No. 24 Oregon State travels this week to face No. 3 Boise State at Bronco Stadium, Saturday at 5 p.m. on ABC. The other players recognized are Jeremy Kerley (TCU), DeMarco Murray (Oklahoma), Trent Richardson (Alabama) and Torrey Smith (Maryland). Click here to read more.
